GadsenThis town in the foothills of Lookout Mountain is one of Alabama's largest industrial centers. Industry began flourishing in Gadsen as early as 1895, not long after William P. Lay built an electrical plant in hopes of enticing investors into the area. Today local industries produce steel, rubber, fabricated metal, electrical equipment and electronic devices. |
