Buckeye

In 1888 M. Jackson built a canal in the west valley and named it Buckeye, after his home state of Ohio.

In 1931 the town that grew up around the canal was incorporated, following a special order form the State Supreme Court. In those early days, Buckeye called itself the "Alfalfa Seed Capital of Arizona."
