AnnaheimIts name meaning "home by the river," Anaheim was settled by German immigrants in 1857. They brought cuttings from their Rhineland vineyards and developed Anaheim into California's wine capital. In the late 1800s, when a blight destroyed the vineyards, the grape growers began growing oranges. Anaheim Stadium, 2000 State College Blvd, seats 70,000. The California Angels baseball team plays mid-April through early October, and the Los Angeles Rams football team plays August through December. Guided tours covering the stadium from the press box to the dressing rooms depart from Gate 1 daily on the hour 11-2, except during stadium events.
