Wells

A little northwest of the townsite was once a famous camping spot on the Emigrant Trail, called Humboldt Wells, for the dozen springs providing fresh water and grass, it was one of the sources of the Humboldt River.

The Central Pacific established a division point nearby, around which the town, renamed Wells, grew up.
