WendoverWhile it is one of Nevada's fastest growing bordertowns, Wendover has been a welcome sight for travelers since the first covered wagon trains. When the travelers spotted nearby Pilot Peak, they knew that they had survived crossing the Great Salt Desert. Wendover was also the training site for the Enola Gay crew that dropped the first atomic bombs more than 40 years ago. Today, the empty barracks, hangars, and base church is all that remains. |
