The Paseo area was developed in 1929 as the first shopping district in the state, gradually becoming home to local artists and musicians. Today, the Paseo’s Spanish revival buildings are home to 22 galleries, restaurants, boutiques and more.
Whether your budget is on the low end or the high end, Paseo has something to satisfy your cravings. Check out OSO on Paseo, a cocktail den serving up traditional Mexican street tacos with vegan and vegetarian-friendly options. Or opt for Picasso Café, an artsy eatery featuring fresh, locally-sourced foods, signature cocktails and live music. For a romantic night out, visit Paseo Grill for a succulent steak.
If it’s art you’re interested in, stop by PaseoArtWorks to peruse an eclectic collection of fine art by Oklahoma artists; Bombs Away Art Co., specializing in punk rock-inspired T-shirts, prints and posters; or In Your Eye Gallery, a dynamic co-op of 12 Oklahoma artists.
Get your shopping fix in the colorful district’s many unique storefronts, like Betsy King Shoes, a boutique filled with well-made, stylish shoes that range from funky and colorful to chic and sophisticated. The dog-friendly Little Market is a handy small business incubator, grocery and wine bar with a rotating selection of vendors. And don’t forget about Eden, where you can find unique fashion, playful accessories and wardrobe styling that’s the result of 20 years in the beauty and fashion industry.
Be sure to visit for First Friday, the Paseo's monthly art walk, featuring dozens of artists and several opening receptions held in participating district galleries. The Paseo Arts Festival is also held annually and will take place Labor Day weekend, combining art, food, music and family fun.
