The Wheeler District is a burgeoning urban neighborhood just west of the Boathouse District. Its main attraction is the historic Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel (purchased on eBay in 2008), which stands 100 feet above the south bank of the Oklahoma River and overlooks the downtown skyline.

Another popular attraction is a large white OKC sign, which is incredibly Instagrammable! The Wheeler Riverfront Plaza also offers hammocks, games, concessions, a seating area and goodies like t-shirts and prints. The Big Friendly, a school bus transformed into a craft beer bus, parks on-site from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. most Fridays and is set to soon have a permanent taproom and brewery. The premier cycling festival, The Wheeler Crit, takes place every Tuesday from March to August.
