For sixty years, the stylish art deco building at the corner of 23rd Street and Hudson Avenue housed a flower shop owned by Oklahoma Belle Cunningham (the first baby born in the newly-formed Oklahoma City) and her husband, L.L. Cheever. Under new owners, in 2000, the structure morphed into a charmingly elegant restaurant named Cheever's Café. Today, the original flower case still serves as the main centerpiece, but now, rather than holding daisies and daffodils, it displays the house selection of fine desserts and wines.

Serving up such unique dishes as molasses roast chicken breast, quinoa avocado salad and spicy shrimp and grits, Cheever's continues to be a local favorite for foodies across the metro area. Just be sure to save room for something sweet! The six-layer giant carrot cake and the roasted pecan ice cream ball are both legendary.
