This cross-cultural exhibit celebrates stylistic and cultural diversity within Native pottery making and features historic Pueblo pottery from the Keres language family and modern pottery from Five Tribes artists. From a Laguna water jar hand-crafted in 1880 to a Chickasaw effigy pot shaped like a bear, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the artistic cultural expression of these past and present Native potters.
This exhibit is a partnership with the Indian Arts Research Center at the School for Advanced Research and the Museum of the Red River. Admission is free and you’ll find the exhibit in the Aaittafama' Room.
