Oklahoma City Ballet's "Petite Mort: A Triple Bill"

at Civic Center Music Hall

Petite Mort: A Triple Bill features Jiří Kylián’s Petite Mort (Company Premiere), Helen Pickett’s Petal (Oklahoma Premiere) and Robert Mills’ World Premiere during his 10th anniversary season.

Jiří Kylián is widely considered one of the most important choreographers in the world today. He created Petite Mort especially for the Salzburg Arts Festival on the 200th anniversary of Mozart’s death, selecting the slow parts of two of the composer’s most beautiful and popular piano concertos. Petite Mort has since become an international sensation and has inspired many within the world of contemporary ballet.

Petal was created by New York choreographer Helen Pickett for Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and has since been performed by companies all over the world. The San Francisco Chronicle wrote of this contemporary ballet that “Petal riveted the attention from the opening moment,” and that Pickett is “a choreographer to remember.”

For the final selection of the program, Robert Mills will celebrate his 10th anniversary season as Artistic Director of Oklahoma City Ballet with a World Premiere work in the grandest of classical ballet style.

Single tickets are on sale beginning February 26, 2018.
