Pianist Andrew von Oeyen and guest conductor Alexander Mickelthwate bring to life Anna Clyne’s Masquerade, Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 44.
With Maestro Joel Levine stepping down next year, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic is showcasing six possible candidates this season, one of whom is German native Alexander Mickelthwate, for the position of new Music Director. Mickelthwate is currently the Music Director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and has previously served as Assistant Conductor with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Associate Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Essa-Pekka Salonen.
