Lyric Theatre presents an exciting performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein's iconic "Oklahoma!" at the Civic Center Music Hall from June 23 to June 27. One of the state's most important musical landmarks, "Oklahoma!" opened on Broadway in 1943 and ran for an unprecedented 2,212 performances. Rodgers and Hammerstein each received special Pulitzer Prizes in 1944 for their work, and the 1955 film adaptation, starring Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones, won two Academy Awards.
