At the end of each year, downtown Oklahoma City is the setting for a variety of bands and an unforgettable children’s craft and performance area to ring in the new year. The day begins with the festive Finale 5K and ends with a fireworks extravaganza at midnight!
Wristbands are required for Opening Night activities and can be purchased at MidFirst Bank locations, 7-Eleven stores, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and Plenty Mercantile beginning December 1. On the night of the event, you can also purchase wristbands at sales locations across the downtown area. Wristbands are $8 in advance and $10 on December 31.
Check out the Children’s Area in Civic Center Music Hall’s Hall of Mirrors for family-friendly fun! Enjoy face painting, an interactive art project and lively music performances. Plus, adults 21+ can warm up with wine, beer or champagne at New Year’s Cheers, a heated tent facing the Finale Stage.
Downtown OKC has rounded up some of the city’s best food trucks to keep you fueled with snacks and drinks on New Year’s Eve! The following delicious options will be available until midnight:
Throughout the evening, catch live performances by Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, OKC Philharmonic, OKC Improv, Take Cover, Joe Coover Magic, The Allie Lauren Project, Edgar Cruz, Orquesta D’Calle and Moetowne Alex & the Nightview Band.
Oklahoma’s newest Top 40 Party Band Take Cover will headline the Opening Night Finale State in Bicentennial Park, playing from 9 p.m. until the countdown to midnight. Take Cover will count the crowd down to midnight as a fireworks extravaganza rings in 2019!
