A trip to Oklahoma City’s Midtown district isn’t complete without a stop at Elemental Coffee Roasters. This small-batch roastery and café prides itself on sourcing, sampling, importing, roasting and delivering some of the finest coffees available in the world. Here, coffee is offered in its purest form and is never enhanced or altered from its natural existence — so, Frappuccino fans, look elsewhere.
Elemental serves a full menu of common espresso drinks and pourover coffees, and also offers tea from Oklahoma City’s own T, An Urban Teahouse. The house-made chocolate sauce is created with Askinosie single origin cocoa powder, a family-owned company sourcing cocoa beans with the same passion that Elemental sources its coffee beans.
Coffee may be the star of the menu, but the variety of delish, freshly prepared food sure gives it a run for its money. On weekends, enjoy brunch offerings like tofu and soyrizo tacos, flaky biscuits and gravy and grilled polenta. On weekday mornings, snag a slice of quiche, a Holey Rollers donut or a homemade scone.
A refrigerated case is always stocked with grab-and-go sandwiches and sides perfect for the busy lunchtime crowd. But if you have time to stick around, order a generous salad or one of the creatively named sandwiches like the C’est La Brie (grilled ham, brie, fig jam) or the Joan Rivers (tempeh bacon, sauerkraut, vegan cheese, stone ground mustard).
And be sure to peruse the walls, as they’re constantly decorated with a rotating selection of local art.
