Battle of Middle Boggy Reenactment

at Fort Washita Historic Site and Museum

On February 13, 1864, three companies of the 14th Kansas Cavalry unexpectedly attacked a detachment of the 20th Texas and Chickasaw/Choctaw Mounted rifles. It resulted in the deaths of 47 Confederate troops.

A historical reenactment of the Battle of Middle Boggy will take place at Fort Washita Saturday, November 3, at 1 p.m. Come experience life on the battlefront and take self-guided tours through the Union, Confederate and civilian camps. Witness various military drills, cooking demonstrations and other living history programs. Nineteenth century vendors will be on-site selling period-appropriate military equipment, clothes, books and souvenirs on Sutler’s Row.

Admission to the reenactment is free! School groups are invited Friday, November 2, for a special day of educational activities.
