The Goddard Center for the Visual and Performing Arts invites you to enjoy a rare glimpse at centuries worth of tribal antiquities from across Africa. Area art educators and their students are invited to gallery talks and receptions, which are always free and open to the public!

This show is designed to start a dialogue about the emergence of art for art’s sake versus the older notion that all artistic endeavors served a spiritual or ceremonial purpose. Pieces from the exhibition have been culled from the vast collections of two local collectors from Ardmore, Oklahoma.
