Marnie by Nico Muhly

at Goddard Art Center

Composer Nico Muhly unveils his second production for the Metropolitan Opera with this gripping reimagining of Winston Graham’s novel, set in the 1950s. The story follows a beautiful, mysterious young woman who assumes multiple identities.

Director Michael Mayer and his creative team have devised a fast-moving, cinematic world for this exhilarating story of denial and deceit, which also inspired a film by Alfred Hitchcock. Conducted by Robert Spano, mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard sings the enigmatic Marnie, and baritone Christopher Maltman is the man who pursues her – with disastrous results.

The opera begins at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, November 10, with a light meal provided one hour beforehand. Tickets are available in-person at the Box Office only and may not be purchased in advance.

Prices are as follows:
General Public - $20
Goddard Members - $15
Senior Citizens - $15
Students - $10
Children - $5
