Don’t miss out on the family-friendly Sunny Side Up Film Festival, March 23-24 at The Goddard Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. Watch a variety of indie films, enjoy filmmaker Q&As and more. Designed for both experienced and novice filmmakers, the festival’s mission is to inspire and encourage filmmakers and screenwriters to pursue courageous and bold artistic visions.
The festival was founded in 2016 by film producer Rock Whitehead and his wife, actress and screenwriter Brenda-Marie Whitehead. The unique film festival competition will feature over 50 indie films and 14 screenplay finalists.
“We have local films and films from all over the world,” SSUFF Director Brenda Whitehead says. “The festival and our selection of films and screenplays that were submitted are truly getting bigger and better every year.”
The festival begins Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with film showings and filmmaker Q&A sessions and continues Sunday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with an awards show hosted by stand-up comic Rob Neville.
“Some of the highlights of the festival will be the feature films. Those will include ‘Caretakers,’ ‘Down and Yonder,’ ‘Little Rose,’ ‘Beneath – A Cave Horror Film’ and ‘Funny Fat Guy,’ Whitehead says. “Our short films are really good too, so it’s all going to raise the level for the Sunny Side Up Film Festival, and we’re very excited about it.”
