For family-friendly seasonal fun, look no further than the 4th Annual Pumpkinville presented by OG&E at Myriad Botanical Gardens! Come out for a celebration of pumpkins, harvest and all things fall. More than 3,000 pumpkins will fill the Children’s Garden along with crafts, games, imaginative displays, parties and more.

Pumpkinville is free for Myriad Gardens members; non-members are $6 per child and $4 per adult, and the pumpkin painting activity costs an additional $5 per pumpkin. Each weekend families can enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment — see below for complete details.

 

TRULY TASTY PUMPKINS
Saturday, October 10, 11 AM - 12 PM in the Pavilion
Free ($2 suggested donation per child)
Best for ages 4-10

Pumpkins offer more than great fall décor — they’re tasty treats too! Discover some of the delicious things you can make with pumpkin, from classic pumpkin pie to pumpkin pancakes. There will also be a discussion about pumpkin seeds, and kids will be sent home with their own spiced pumpkin seeds to bake.

 

CIDER PRESS DEMONSTRATION AND TASTING
Friday October 9, 16 and 23, 1 PM -1:30 PM in the Pavilion
Free ($1 suggested donation per child)

Learn how cider is made as and try out the old-fashioned cider press each Friday during Pumpkinville. Join in on the cider making and enjoy a taste of this delicious juice at the end.

 

PAINTING IN THE GARDEN SERIES WITH WINE AND PALETTE
Saturday, October 10, 11 AM - 2 PM on the Pavilion Lawn
Members $10 and Non-Members $20; register online here.

Wine and Palette instructors will guide participants in painting their own unique and personal pumpkin! This is the last of Wine and Palette's yearly series.

 

STORYTIME AT THE PUMPKINVILLE LIBRARY

Best for ages 4-9

Enjoy spooky, ghostly, mysterious, and even funny stories each Saturday during Pumpkinville. Stories include "Little Goblins Ten" by Pamela Jane, "A Witch Got on At Paddington Station" by Dyan Sheldon and "There Was an Old Monster" by Ed Emberly.

 

WHY DO LEAVES CHANGE COLORS?

Best for ages 5-9

Ever wonder why the trees shed their green for more colorful hues in the fall? Come out to explore why leaves change when the temperatures drop and what makes them green in the first place. Finish the afternoon with a hands-on painting craft that captures the natural magic of color-changing leaves!

 

PUMPKINVILLE HALLOWEEN PARTY: GARDEN MONSTER BASH
Saturday, October 24, 6 PM - 8 PM in the Children's Garden
Members: $7 per child and $5 per adult Non-Members: $10 per child and $8 per adult

The monsters at this Halloween party are definitely more friendly than frightening! Join Myriad Gardens for ghoulish garden games, eerie entertainment and spook-alicious treats. There will be prizes for those who don their creepy, crawly and cute costumes. Space is limited, so reserve early by registering online here. This event is sponsored by PayCom and Soccer City.
