Matisse in His Time: Masterworks of Modernism from the Centre Pompidou, Paris

at Oklahoma City Museum of Art

“Matisse in His Time” is organized by the Centre Pompidou — Europe’s leading museum of Modern and Contemporary Art — in collaboration with the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Visitors to the exhibition will experience the full scope of Matisse’s extraordinary career through nearly 50 of his paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints, dating from the late nineteenth century to after World War II. In addition to these masterpieces, “Matisse in His Time” also features 50 additional major works by many of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century, including iconic works by Picasso, as well as Renoir, André Derain, Georges Braque, Joan Miró and Amedeo Modigliani.

The OKCMOA will be the exclusive North American venue for Matisse in His Time: Masterworks of Modernism from the Centre Pompidou, Paris, which presents, for the first time outside Europe, highlights from one of the world’s preeminent collections of modern art. A major catalogue featuring essays by leading Matisse scholars and exhibition curator Cécile Debray will be published in conjunction with the exhibition.

Admission tickets are timed entry only, meaning a set number of tickets will be allotted for every 15-minute interval. Be sure to check the date and time listed prior to purchasing. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for children 6-18, $10 for seniors and free for members and children under 5.
