This free exhibit traces the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s rich history from its founding in 1936 and incorporation in 1945 to present day. Through a wealth of photographs, letters, newspaper clippings and scrapbooks, visitors will discover the fascinating stories over the past 75 years.
Visitors will learn the story behind relocations that took the museum to the Civic Center Municipal Auditorium, the State Fairgrounds and its current location in downtown. Plus find features such as Dale Chihuly’s original designs for his model of the Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick Memorial Tower and hand-written letters from artists Paul Cadmus and Alexandre Hogue.
