First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare

at Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History

In honor of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in 1616, “First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare” will be on display throughout the month of January. Come view this rare book, which will be opened to the most quoted Shakespeare line in history: “To be or not to be,” from “Hamlet.”

Accompanying the rare book will be a multi-panel exhibition exploring the significance of Shakespeare, then and now, with additional digital content and interactive activities. Also on display is Shakespeare’s Second Folio (1632), held in the John and Mary Nichols Special Collections at Bizzell Memorial Library, as a part of the Galileo’s World exhibition celebrating the university’s 125th anniversary.
