A trip to the Arbuckle Mountains isn't complete without booking an afternoon at the Arbuckle Trail Rides, a rustic, guided experience beginning at Wolfe Ranch that will take you for a relaxing ride through mountainous scenery and lush green landscapes.

Rides take place throughout the year, with some of the most picturesque being in the winter when a greater variety of wildlife tends to venture out. Imagine trotting through the snowy countryside, just you and your horse and a beautiful landscape stretched out before you. This is an adventure you won’t soon forget.

Each ride is arranged to fit your custom needs and skill level, and individual instruction is available by appointment for riders aged six and older. Rides range in duration from one to four hours or can be scheduled for the entire day.

Overnight rides are the newest offering, with riders heading out on a weekday and pitching up in a nearby primitive camping area. Or, if you’d rather trek out on your own, check out the nearby Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, just five miles from the ranch.

All trail rides are by appointment only, so be sure to call ahead.
