Bricktown was founded directly after the Land Run of 1889 and became Oklahoma City's first warehouse and distribution district. As the central hub of the state, it helped connect cities via railroad and, eventually, through highways.
Today, this historic warehouse district has been revitalized into a thriving entertainment district featuring the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, a mile-long canal with water taxis, dozens of restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining, the Exhibit C art gallery, the American Banjo Museum, retail shopping, a variety of live music venues, plus hotels, easy access to a movie theatre complex and more.
