The Three Sisters Celebration is one of the Chickasaw Cultural Center’s largest annual events, and it observes the changing of seasons, when essential crops take root. Join the weeklong festivities March 16-24!
An ancient method of gardening, the “Three Sisters” technique uses an intercropping system to grow beans, corn and squash simultaneously. It provides long-term soil fertility and healthy crops of food. Garden tours will allow visitors to see this harmonious method in action.
Activities in the Traditional Village also include stomp dancing, hide tanning, archery tag, food sampling, storytelling and so much more. Visitors can browse a native arts market and catch a variety of films in the Anoli’ Theatre, in addition to enjoying special gift shop discounts. This event is free and open to the public!
