Beginning in 2010, the National Day of the Cowboy event attracts visitors from near and far. Kicking off the celebrations is “The Wild Boys,” with live music by Missy Frye and Gaylon Blankenship, book readings by local authors and entertainment by E Jo Brown. Get ready to rope a longhorn, ride a buckin’ bronc and create your brand! Make sure to beat the heat in the Heritage Center’s 4D Experience Theater, where you can watch the cattle stampede, cool down during a summer thunderstorm on the Oklahoma prairie and learn about life as a cowboy or cowgirl.
